2. I do believe AGI will change everything overnight, currently we have proto-agi, it is superhuman in some areas and subhuman in others while having some levels of generality through crystallized intelligence.   The thing is with the current path; we will likely reach AGI that will potentially be superhuman at most tasks from the outset.   This means research in robotics, synthetic biology, and even ai itself will likely drastically be sped up.   Synthetic biology in particular is highly promising as many biologists do not have the imagination to see the vast potential that remains untapped with unevolvable designs, extremophiles have only hinted at its potential, cells have the potential to make part of a new era of self-repairing self-replicating technological and manufacturing base combining and exceeding the best of man-made products and nature, allowing for the use of cheap ubiquitous materials to provide unlimited energy and material abundance.

The study establishes proof of concept for using naturally occurring bacteria as a cancer therapy. Future research will examine whether the approach can be applied to additional solid tumors, including breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, and melanoma.

The team also plans to optimize treatment methods through approaches such as dose fractionation and direct injection into tumors. Researchers will also investigate whether E. americana works even better when combined with existing chemotherapy or immunotherapy.

Interesting research, along with the moderna anticancer vaccine that was previously mentioned, and the cancer immunity research from lift biosciences.

All of these if successful seem like they might be able to treat many diverse types of solid tumors, including malignant ones throughout the body.   Both Moderna and Lift have already passed animal trials and are already in human trials, in the case of moderna some of the trials were successful recently.

I will say mathematicians can avoid any drama of potential conflict regards credit or authorship by using local private ai models that do not share their prompts or ai assisted findings.   The open-source models are rapidly catching up to and at times exceeding the closed source models.

Currently the best model out there, surpassing even fable 5.1, at least according to the benchmarks.   Several of the demos are shown in the video, and they look notably impressive.

comment 2: resveratrol failed due to fast liver clearance, in animals without fast liver clearance above 50% life extension is achieved, including in vertebrates.   At very high dose it achieved over 20% life extension in primates albeit the group was too small to reach statistical significance.  New formulations of resveratrol such as JOTROL shows good promise, and is now undergoing clinical trials for some conditions.

we don't know if there are physical limits that intelligence can't overcome, in the book the metamorphosis of prime intellect, it turns out even the fundamental laws of physics can be altered by intelligence.  Though perhaps there are limits, still they may allow for things like wormholes, or nanobots which can overcome most limits.   Full immersion virtual reality can allow for omnipotence within the virtual space and endless environments of untold beauty and physical impossibility.

Edit: most impressive news is that the Nvidia avo harness together with claude managed to get 100% on arc agi 3 public benchmark, something that most models alone previously failed miserably at.  

Edit 2:  The fact adding a harness to claude allowed 100% on arc agi 3, when previously scores were under 30%, suggests that maybe llm technology with some additions might be able to reach agi, without having to resort to radically different architecture.

Intelligence might be simpler than some expected in its fundamental nature as Hawkins prior comments suggested.
