Digital foundry does hands-on with dlss 5

 

DLSS 5 an upcoming tech, supposedly limited to 5000 geforce series, or higher, iirc, is being showcased.  This tech superimposes ai generated technology into the games.  

Edit: My opinion is that this new technology should have been called something else and leave the dlss upscaling as a separate path from the ai generated path.

This latest update to the transformer based dlss upgrade to image upscaling creates the best image yet.  Extreme detail with very high performance is possible through the use of dlss.  It basically allows a videocard to punch well above its weight class.

How Far Behind is AMD? - DLSS 4.5 vs FSR 4

FSR has caught up to dlss 3 but still trails behind dlss4.5.  Still the image is quite decent, and acceptable.  But once you've experienced dlss4.5 you can't go back.

DLSS still far outshines FSR, and amd is still catching up.  But we will see what happens with the next generation of ai upscaling.   Currently even the lowest quality of dlss appears competitive with fsr highest quality.
