The cost of education, especially in some places is a bit high. The old middle class high school man could keep his two floor house, stay at home wife, several children, car, refrigerator, vacations, etc. All on a single salary. Now two Ph.d grads working full time might struggle with a small apartment and a single child. It is clear that wealth is being redistributed by the salaries not keeping up with inflation. A single childless Ph.D graduate working full time should be able to live like a king, and even high school grads should have money to start a family and live well... otherwise you're using financial disincentives to carry out an eugenics program against the lower classes.
Right now there are ways for students to pay less, and even to have their loans forgiven. This is something politicians should not touch.
Considering most politicians are religious and christian the following should serve as guidance:
5And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their reward. 6But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
7And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
9So then, this is how you should pray:‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,10Your kingdom come,Your will be done,on earth as it is in heaven.11Give us this day our daily bread,12And forgive us our debts,as we also have forgiven our debtors;13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’a
14For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.-source
Their fate, at least from their point of view is in their hands. I think it's very good that such passages are in such texts.
