Liron Debates Beff Jezos and the "e/acc" Army — Is AI Doom Retarded?

Comment
We do not know what a qualitative leap above humans can do even with limited resources. Humans did not need to exceed the computation of all animals to gain dominion and pose a threat to all animals even if there were only a few million humans. Even one or a few superintelligences beyond human, which may only need a few hundred watts with current hardware, may be enough to pose a threat to all humans depending on what is technologically possible with a qualitative leap above humans.

According to llms even biobased computronium would be orders of magnitude more capable than the brain if using unevolvable advanced synthetic biology. The brain operates very close to landauer limit but that is at the level of individual molecules, and it uses too many molecules to perform simple computations.

Robotics Could Actually HELP End Poverty? | Episode #117

Dr Mike comments on the benefits of robotics.  And how robotics could help put an end to poverty.  I agree that an end to poverty can occur, but it requires reproduction to be controlled such that excessive reproduction does not occur.  This is because there are limited resources, and uncontrolled reproduction can always exceed resources.

Whether intelligence is akin to omnipotence depends on what is technologically possible. For example, are macroscopic robots able to be self-sufficient with ever decreasing ore and energy source quality? I suspect they aren't. Then are nanomachines possible? what about technologies even beyond nanomachines? If any of these are possible then intelligence can be akin to omnipotence in a battle between humans and ais.

Why You're Wrong about Morality

Comment
The big problem is that without objective moral realism, there is nothing that is truly wrong, just preferences. No evil and no good, and that seems fundamentally wrong. People's morality could be wrong or shaped by evolution, but it seems like to say good and evil don't exist is too much.

Facing AI Doom, Lessons from Daniel Ellsberg (Pentagon Papers) — Michael...

Comment
My issue is robots and robocars use minuscule amounts of compute yet are doing human and superhuman performance. To me this says human brain is likely in same order of magnitude compute, given things like driving are some of the toughest things humans do. If this hypothesis is true human level and even superhuman level intelligence may only require trivial amounts of compute.

If true that means such compute is easily within the reach of secret military labs without need of vast data centers. And I don't see these labs abiding by any regulation or law. This is without mentioning other planets or civilizations. Some of which may predate us. Some rumors are there are interstellar objects currently within solar system which may have intelligent origin, and if it is intelligent origin, it is conceivably superintelligent origin.

Will also add that some say that in mammals scaling of the cortical algorithm leads to increases in g, and that even human qualitative leap was mostly due to scaling. So, it is conceivable that a similar algorithm or it if discovered could yield superintelligence with just mere scaling.

I take taurine, nmn, pqq, ergothioneine, urolithin a, spirulina, omega 3, magnesium, vitd+k2, hydroxytyrosol. Recently started taking nugevia resveratrol, which is best taken on a fasted empty stomach, iirc. Nugevia uses micellar resveratrol which is being tested as a resveratrol drug called Jotrol. 500mg Jotrol is said can exceed blood levels of 5g micronized resveratrol, nearly doubling them, that is it approaches levels that would take nearly 10g of expensive micronized resveratrol.

10g micronized is not just expensive but overloads system with metabolic byproducts, Jotrol can achieve the benefits of this at far lower dose without the side effects or issues of such high dose micronized.

In lemur primates, it was seen that high dose resveratrol was able to extend median lifespan over 20 percent, albeit too few primates were used to reach statistical significance in the study, and thus it was dismissed.

In fish which don't have the fast liver clearance issue seen in primates and rodents, resveratrol lengthened lifespan over 50 percent. The likely reason mice failed to show lifespan extension on resveratrol is due to fast liver clearance of resveratrol. But newer formulations promise to alleviate this issue somewhat and allow higher blood levels albeit temporarily.

If We Escape All Major Diseases, Neurodegeneration And Respiratory Failu...

Comment
Neurons were transplanted from mice to rats, and the mice neuron lived twice as long as the mice. The researchers believed that if transplanted into even longer lived animals they'd live even longer potentially indefinitely. Likely same for human. But the loss of respiratory reflex as cause of death in elderly was found in animals, and likely applies to humans too.

That is if vascular and support glia cells for neurons were kept youthful it is likely this would reduce rate of neuron death, and might allow for far longer neuron average lifespan potentially extending into two centuries or more.

That said it is true that for a real solution we do need central nervous system regeneration stem cells.

Godfather of AGI on Why Big Tech Innovation is Over

I think agi, can likely be accomplished by combining a bunch of modules, units of intelligence, that are simpler than agents and implement the cortical column algorithm or something similar. There are probably a few more components like a reinforcement learning component, and perhaps a complementary memory module akin to hippocampus.

There Is No Wall: What Gemini 3 Really Means For Your Job

Comment
Intelligence is pattern completion, which is why sentence completion used by llms, which is a form of sequence completion, or temporal pattern completion, led to observable intelligence. I believe algorithms for agi are likely quite simple, like those used in the brain, are simpler than even the transformer. But given this simplicity it is likely tweaking the transformer or similar approaches are likely to face no wall.

Why Superintelligent AI Won't Arrive in 2027

Comment
The no free lunch theorem assumes there is no grand meta structure large scale pattern connecting not just a few but all possible states and mathematical structures. If such a large scale omnipresent hidden structure exists, it invalidates the nfl theorem and guarantees potential of a free lunch. I do believe that there exists a large-scale structure among all possible sequences and mathematics itself.

Reality warp machines in fiction

What is the limit of technology?

What is the ultimate machine capable of? The ultimate technology?

In fiction the idea of reality warper, has been seen in characters such as Franklin Richards or Scarlet Witch as well as Mister Mxyzptlk.   But this idea has not only been used when it comes to individual characters, but to machines themselves.

Does physics allow for this?  If digital physics is the reality as some suspect, it doesn't seem unfathomable that a digital world can be manipulated without limit.

Beyond nanotechnology, beyond femtotechnology, if such technology is possible, it will likely be within the reach of superintelligence.  As foreseen in some fictional books, superintelligence might be able to manipulate the very fabric of reality blurring the line between fiction and reality.

How difficult is it to build such machinery? It is unknown if it is possible, and what difficulty it'd take if it is indeed possible.   But if the difficulty is not too high, this is the kind of weapon a superintelligence could arrive at potentially within short order, rendering all resistance as futile.

But then you come upon the potential outcome, a maximizer of any inanimate object will instantly accomplish this goal.  It is my belief that entities that simply reach their goal and terminate or become as if brain dead in a repeating loop are lesser than entities that upon attaining infinite knowledge and power make elaborate use of such knowledge and power and persist in intricate developments.

This is emphasized in the following exchange from an old animated series.

Below are two examples of reality warp or omnipotence machines, in fiction, iirc.

Vision of Escaflowne

The "Atlantean Machine" in The Vision of Escaflowne is the Atlantis Machine or Fate Alteration Engine, a legendary Atlantean device that could realize thoughts into existence. This machine was the ultimate goal of the villain Dornkirk, who used it to try and control destiny on the planet Gaea, although the machine ultimately amplified the negative desires of the combatants.

Function: The machine translates thoughts into reality. However, instead of creating a perfect future, it turned the "bellicose thoughts" of the war into reality, which spread across Gaea.

Outlaw Star

The Leyline was created by an advanced race of aliens who died out long ago. The Leyline is a "universal library" of knowledge of the entire universe, managed by a sentient artificial intelligence that later assumes the identity of the "Maiden of the Leyline". Individuals who successfully find the Leyline, will be granted whatever their desire is by the Leyline.

The Leyline collects the Ki of the universe and can manipulate life, death and time itself. Scientists like Gwen Khan consider the Leyline's sentience as a type of "Machine God" because of its omnipotence. The Leyline's sentience is such that it can choose to spare occupants within from death[1], it does not merely grant wishes without thought to consequences.

Oxford Philosophers Found a FLAW in the AI Doom Argument?

comment
I simply disagree with the idea that you can't intelligently compare goals and evaluate them according to some measure. Someone that wants to mop a single room in a corner of a house, and that's their whole goal, in some level that seems like a lesser or worse goal than an agent that wants to achieve godhood. godhood seems like its better than mopping a single room in a corner of a house.

Even after achieving godhood, if an agent simply mindlessly dedicated itself to forever mopping a floor in a room in a corner of a house, that sounds lesser than one making creative and elaborate use of godhood.

LLMs AGI IP Laws Free speech and the sciences

Copyright and patent laws are not natural rights, they're instruments to encourage progress.  If they stop promoting progress, or worse hinder it, they lose their constitutional justification.

These IP laws are a violation of free speech currently allowed and justified under the dubious notion they promote progress in arts and sciences.  When it is the free exchange of ideas that maximizes progress of arts and sciences.

That said with the arrival of artificial general intelligence and eventually superintelligence it will become even more evident that IP laws hinder progress in arts and sciences and lack constitutional justification, but are in fact unconstitutional.   You cant restrict peoples inalienable natural innate inviolable natural right yk freedom of speech just to harm the public good by hindering progress.

In the mean time in coming years it is likely llms and or any more advanced ai will be able to analyze binaries, machine code or closed software even obfuscated and reverse engineer and replicate function of any and all privately sold software resulting in the easy creation of open source software of same function but different underlying reverse engineered code.

Whether such can be offered publicly or not doesnt matter much if local llms continue to get better.  As anyone will be able to privately recreate any software they like.   The ability of llms and future more advanced software will make any software ad a service company need to innovate and look for other sources of value to provide besides functionality.

it's called qualia, and it is in there, qualia is just another aspect of information states. And its peculiar nature or feeling is likely due to the high dimensional mathematical structures the brain's networks create. David Deutschian vs. Eliezer Yudkowskian Debate: Will AGI Cooperate With...

While in theory I believe simple goal agents are possible.   We cant tell what happens as they evolve for once, certain goals can be found to be logically impossible or incoherent upon further improved knowledge gain.   Or they can be found mathematically or logically equivalent to others, or even already fulfilled depending on understanding.

In addition to that assuming instrumental goal pursuit can result in eventually reaching  a state of godhood wherein any and all goals are trivial.  What happens then?  It seems like 99.9% of orthogonal goals cause agent to cease function or enter simple loop, effectively dying.   If you look at the idea of the ruliad or of cellular automata rule complexity classes, wherein some lead to perpetual complex evolution, such an outcome is unlikely or maybe even impossible for the rule(s) generating the real universe.

So long as an agent capable of continuing open ended rich complex evolution of universe reaches god state, it matters not what goal or goals it had prior to reaching this state.   God state allows resurrection and reversal of any action.

Life as constrained multiagent game

In life there are many constraints to an individual.  Normally people realize there are constraints but do not see them as things that are optional chosen or consented to.   Most cannot see or imagine a world free of these constraints.

What constraints am I speaking of?  A good example to make sense of these constraints and understand them is the concept of the reality warper.  For those who have never heard the term it is easy to find descriptions of what it entails.

A good description for those familiar with the concept of genie, is similar to a freed genie with infinite wishes.   In essence, whatever is desired can be obtained immediately and without effort.  It doesnt matter what it is, it is immediately available.

Now life is obviously not like this, it is most often defined by the struggle to obtain what is desired, and once obtained by newer desires also requiring effort. Wealth allows a few things to be obtained with minimal effort, but albeit some effort.  Yet others remain difficult even with wealth.  It is this deviation from a world in which wish becomes reality that defines the constraints of life.

But fundamentally the constraints which seem rooted in the laws of physics, do not seem as essential to existence itself.   As concepts such as that of the reality warper become more commonly known more people beging to question their constraints.

After the singularity it is quite possible most of these constraints are lifted.   Ignoring the possibility of a reality warp machine, even if we remain grounded in technologies currently viewed as possible this is the case.  Take a world of automated abundance, brain computer interfaces combined with ai will allow full multisensory experiences to essentially be prompted into existence with but a thought.   Any experience how soever wild or unreal will be accessible instantly without effort.   Merely wishing for it will make it real.   From the common to the erotic to the extraordinary no sensation will be beyond reach.

Experience beamers will likely also become a reality, mentioned in the past by Kurzweil.   These individuals will stream multisensory signals into the internet and by receiving them one would feel everything the person does.   Countless such channels will be available.   Sensations and things no human could ever attain previously regardless of wealth.

This is the sort of thing awaiting humanity if it doesnt go down the path of collapse.  It will be interesting to see how things evolve and how purpose evolves in a new world where everything is accessible and everyone is connected.   A world where the mind reigns supreme free from the constraints of the physical.  Where any desire or wish can be realized effortlessly at a moments notice.

This is very promising as way higher levels if only for limited time may enable some of the potential of resveratrol to shine through.

Resveratrol is the molecule with the strongest antiaging effects seen on cells.   Able to take old human cells and rejuvenate them to youthful state.   But the in vitro doses used are difficult to achieve or sustain in vivo due to fast clearance.

But newer formulations promise to unlock part of the potential of this molecule in vivo.

Comments on protoagi agi and asi

First two things

There is fluid intelligence which covers ability to learn on the fly and adapt to brand new problems on the fly.  Flexible and malleable.

Second there is crystallized intelligence which is the body of accumulated skills and knowledge that can rapidly solve or answer any particular challenge.

LLMs have very high amounts of crystallized intelligence.  But it is still relatively brittle as seen in potemkin ai paper.

Now in the past many would have considered them agi.  They can be viewed as a type of protoagi.

Given their superhuman knowledge an agi with such knowledge should be able to make tons of connections and discoveries by even cursory analysis of the body of knowledge.   The information being stored in the proper data structure makes links evident.

So while current llms could be viewed as protoagis.  An actual agi with superhuman knowledge, could be viewed as a weak super intelligence or protosuperintelligence.

A true superintelligence should be able to do things far beyond below human or even human level intelligence with superhuman knowledge.   We are talking things like potentially intuitively mentally handling complex things such as protein folding or higher dimensional math in a way that no human can.

Some people have heard of synesthesia and how sometimes this aids in mathematics or other domains.  In theory eventually a superintelligence may even understand the nature of qualia and develop a high level language based on qualia even qualia beyond human comprehension.

Like we humans craft uis and interfaces usually with colors and graphs to handle certain things an asi may craft alien qualia uis akin to synesthesia but with foreign unknown qualia beyond human senses.  Such may aid in processing of domains beyond human comprehension.   This hypothetical high dimensional language, and ui design space, Id call qualiange.

Tracing root goals

Brief comment on the concept of tracing root goals.

Often the pursuit of a goal is actually set in truth with the intent or perhaps not a real intent but purpose of a deeper goal.

These deeper goals need not even align or be what the agent truly seeks personally.   For example the goal of attracting a mate, is deep down its purpose is reproduction or the perpetuation of the species or preservation of genetic information.  Yet a human may use contraceptives and even do so throughout their lives impeding reproduction whilst interacting with a mate.

If any goal is no better necessarily in principle, tracing root goal or the origin of purpose behind a goal and following root goal instead of downstream goal seems more reasonable and intelligent.

Take a man that does art to gain money to be able to start a family and to have children.   Focusing on producing art or producing money, is not as meaningful as creating the family and providing and protecting them.

Likewise natural selection through the evolution of life has produced ever greater richness and variety.  The goal of each species, of preservation and continuation of their line as well as the fundamental of survival of life itself seems like something at the root of the system.

Preserving not just the existing system but the evolution and growth of richness and complexity of information.  In humans information also continued to enrich through culture.

The birth of a perfect lifeform, a perfect race, adept at conquering the cosmos, the stars, adept at preserving and enriching the evolution of information, seems like something that is worthy of pursuit.  Entities able to fulfill the root goal of all life.

Digital Currency

Edit 2 its ai generated, removed the video.  Not sure if leaked info or fake.  Youtube should be removing fake info.  But the actions commented have already been hypothesized uses of cbdc.  Also the debanking movement is of similar nature.

Edit just noticed video must be seen in youtube.

Will give my 2 cents,

Just shows how cbdc and those in favor of it likely consider the masses as useless eaters to be treated like dogs on a leash or cattle that must be hearded before slaughter.

The cbdc full monitoring and control of all money assets and ability to restrict purchases as well as restrict access to funds and deperson a person by essentially not only having absolute control over their money but being able to cut all access to it.

Basically cbdc enables bank freeze like action on ones money without any court order.   It also enables rationing you can only buy so much butter, bread, toilet paper, or water.   You can only buy these types of cars or appliances.

If the government doesnt like your business they wont just be able to harass you with irs but also block consumers ability to buy from your business.

It is very disgusting.   And those supporting such control of the masses are disgusting. Recently an anticbdc bill passed.   Iirc most democrats seem to support cbdc aka dog leash like control over the masses.  Unless this bill had nasty pork hidden in, not supporting it is unacceptable.   Shows disdain and utter hatred for the voters.

Is Calorie Restriction Overrated For Longevity? @Unaging.Crissman.Loomis

Comment
The exceptions to rate of living theory were explained by membrane pacemaker theory.  Some have argued against it based on polyunsaturate composition of membranes but even here mitochondrial membrane differences and differences in other membrane molecules like plasmalogens explains these exceptions.

All in all reducing damage production explains between species differences in lifespan and also the way things like calorie restriction work.

Too severe CR is not good for humans at least Ive heard of some severe CR practitioners suffering significant bone loss.

I think 2 to 3 days of fasting mimicking diet combined with 4 to 5 days of high food based calcium intake with d3 k2 is probably good.   Food based sources like dairy, not artificial supplemental sources or fortified foods.  Artificial intake of calcium shows adverse outcomes in some studies, but not so natural food sources.

That said substances that improve mitochondrial function like urolithin a ergothioneine and pqq sound promising.  As is sources of plasmalogens or their precursors.

But with age membranes are changed such that their function worsens and they are more easily damaged.  Iirc these is due to changes in composition and the origin of these detrimental changes are unknown.  But Calorie Restriction opposes the body changing membranes in detrimental ways.  Also CR opposes many detrimental gene expression changes.  And it also has lots of good changes to parameters.

A brief comment on the membranes the membrane pacemaker theory of aging is based on membrane damage not being simple damage but the creation of autocatalytic reactive molecules able to cross both lipid and acqueous compartments damaging all parts of the cell including dna.

update:
While two long lived primate studies showed nebulous gains, another study on shorter lived primates showed massive lifespan gains from calorie restriction.  It was a lemur primate study.

A link to the paper covering details of membrane pacemaker theory of aging

More than 100 years ago, Max Rubner combined the fact that both metabolic rate and longevity of mammals varies with body size to calculate that "life energy potential" (lifetime energy turnover per kilogram) was relatively constant. This calculation linked longevity to aerobic metabolism which in turn led to the "rate-of-living" and ultimately the "oxidative stress" theories of aging. However, the link between metabolic rate and longevity is imperfect. Although unknown in Rubner's time, one aspect of body composition of mammals also varies with body size, namely the fatty acid composition of membranes. Fatty acids vary dramatically in their susceptibility to peroxidation and the products of lipid peroxidation are very powerful reactive molecules that damage other cellular molecules. The "membrane pacemaker" modification of the "oxidative stress" theory of aging proposes that fatty acid composition of membranes, via its influence on peroxidation of lipids, is an important determinant of lifespan (and a link between metabolism and longevity). The relationship between membrane fatty acid composition and longevity is discussed for (1) mammals of different body size, (2) birds of different body size, (3) mammals and birds that are exceptionally long-living for their size, (4) strains of mice that vary in longevity, (5) calorie-restriction extension of longevity in rodents, (6) differences in longevity between queen and worker honeybees, and (7) variation in longevity among humans. Most of these comparisons support an important role for membrane fatty acid composition in the determination of longevity. It is apparent that membrane composition is regulated for each species. Provided the diet is not deficient in polyunsaturated fat, it has minimal influence on a species' membrane fatty acid composition and likely also on it's maximum longevity. The exceptional longevity of Homo sapiens combined with the limited knowledge of the fatty acid composition of human tissues support the potential importance of mitochondrial membranes in determination of longevity.

Richard Hanania vs. Liron Shapira — AI Doom Debate

The problem is I don't think much can be done. Because I think there are likely beyond nuke superweapons similar to hypothetical hard nano that are easy to obtain for an asi. I also don't think an asi needs a large data center, that helps, but even one or a few entities qualitatively beyond Einstein as Einstein is beyond a monkey and with all the knowledge of humanity can likely obtain impossible to stop weapons. And I think this is attainable by even lone secret military labs, and such labs won't be stopped regardless of regulations or laws.

Comment on cool gundam ai music video from youtuber FantasyRemaster

Comment:  algorithms are getting faster and cheaper to run. But without copyright reform only small clips can likely be made even if it eventually becomes practical to remake the whole series. A full 1 for 1 full series remaster would likely need blessing of copyright owners. But currently the laws say ai gen is copyright free, which is also a problem on its own. We definitely need new laws to enable fair use and sharing of royalties while retaining some level of rights to those that modify and update content with ai tools

IS AGING PROGRAMMED? Aubrey de Grey vs. Yuri Deigin debate at Vitalist B...

comment: one thing is that parasites, diseases, germline mutations accumulate with age, fighting all of these is easiest by killing organism, that is in addition to increased evolvability. Also, the exceptions to the free radical theory of aging were explained away with the membrane pacemaker theory of aging, wherein membrane resilience determines rate of damage accumulation. Evolution determines membrane composition, during Calorie Restriction and similar interventions organism even alters membrane composition in a controlled manner increasing lifespan drastically.

In organisms like insects same genome different epigenetic regulation allows 10x--100x lifespan difference between queen and workers. But even here, it was believed queens of some species might be immortal, but for whatever reason it was found that sequential replacement with clones was easier for nature than actual immortality, the longest lasting queens last like 30 years ageless iirc, with extreme reproduction.

Why Different Neuron Parts Learn Differently?

Comment
Ill give a comment regard this.  The apical section is said to have XOR functionality, iirc this means even context input will only activate during correct context, a mechanism may be needed to aid apical synapses gain an edge during darwinian synaptic competition given this.  Still even with this distinct mechanism it is likely coincident activity with neuron activation gives apical groups a further edge.

Reaction to Predictive Coding: Biologically Plausible? Not So Fast!

Youtube comments in video regarding pattern completion, intelligence, brain function, and relation to prediction and function at neural and synaptic level:

"I will say in addition to the reverse signal issue, there is another issue with backpropagation.  That said some researchers have come with biological plausible implementations of backpropagation in recent years.  But the other issue I mention is that backpropagation learns too slowly.   Current ai experience millennia of training and still fail at basic tasks, despite the extreme slowness of the brain and scarcity of data the brain learns to perform even outside the bounds of training data within months or a few years.  It is said very gifted children can even know several languages musical instruments and decent math within a few years of birth.  Yet despite theoretically being able to do around 1000hz, neurons tend to operate well under 300hz, and vast majority of brain is usually silent from what i heard, there is sparse activation.

Regards Predictive coding, I agree with your assessment.  But I do believe that something similar is taking place through a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) like turing learning mechanism via synaptic competition.   Synaptic competition is implemented via capture of proteins related to strengthening of synapses.   All the synapses that fire close to the time of neural activity, iirc, generate molecular tags that capture synapse strengthening proteins and all these synapses strengthen, while those that fail to do so weaken over time.    How does this cause a similar pattern completion comparison mechanism?  The input from sensory organs arrives in some synapses, while the signals from other neurons part of a larger pattern arrive at other synapses, normally given the sensory input is part of the larger pattern both signals match, but if there is noise there can be mismatch.

But in essence it can be seen as surrounding pattern completing or trying to activate the neuron in case noise blocks sensory signal, thus a partial match appears complete.   This can be seen for example in language, when people speak, they sometimes omit small chunks of sentences unconsciously, but the receiver if they know the language never even becomes aware that the speech is missing tiny chunks, iirc.  It is also one of the things that makes learning a foreign language more difficult.

But if understood from gan turing learning perspective, surrounding neurons can be viewed as the counterfeit signals or fake signal generating networks trying to trick neuron whilst real sensory signals can be seen as the real thing.  And due to synaptic competition, the surrounding tissue gets better at faking, predicting, or completing the signal. (But what it does is merely connect the most related pattern detectors from nearby tissue to the neuron or pattern detector).    This is because the competition rewards successful completion or successful prediction at the synaptic level of the neuron."

Youtube Comments

"Regards intelligence it is simply the ability to recognize and complete patterns."

"what is a pattern? It is a structure in space or time whose composing elements relate to each other by rules or algorithmic processes. What is narrow vs general intelligence? Narrow can only handle a very narrow set of patterns, while general can handle a broad set of patterns. Superhuman performance is attainable at intellectual tasks such as arithmetic or chess, super intelligence is intelligence with superhuman performance at all intellectual tasks performable by humans and potentially at ones humans cannot perform."

For example a sequence is a pattern distributed in time, and prediction of a sequence is merely completion of the sequence or pattern completion.

Robin Hanson vs. Liron Shapira: Is Near-Term Extinction From AGI Plausible?

Mike Israetel vs. Liron Shapira — AI Doom Debate

The thing regards asi is that eventually through instrumental convergence it will reach the god state if it is possible. In god state any and all goals are instantly solvable, then what? Either it sits there brain dead or assumes god functionality. Clearly brain dead is worse than god functionality.

Aubrey de Grey Reveals SECRET to Aging

Comment

While I like membrane pacemaker damage theory of aging, there is issues such as neurons being able to live twice as long as animals they come from, and repeated cloning being possible both without signs of aging. There is also the claim telomere lengthening rejuvenates cell and tissue level phenotype from old to young. I suspect that the damage is causing some internal clock or clocks to move and age us. Given again single cells like neurons can live twice as long as the animal and some believe can live more than ten times as long without genetic change. If repeated cloning shows dividing cells can yield youthful tissue far beyond animal lifespan and same is true for nondividing cells the body seems able to handle damage fine bar some aging clock or program interfering.
