NOTE:
This is a guide from a youtuber on compiling the xmr stak monero miner. The miner can be installed from downloadable exe, but it has a small developer donation fee. Given the source is available it is possible to compile the software from source and eliminate the donations though it takes a few more steps, the compiling steps to produce the exe.
As for monero, monero is a popular cryptocurrency, similar to bitcoin, but different with very strong privacy centered focused design.
