Once you connect by Miracast, everything that happens on your phone screen will be shared in real time. That could be a game, an app, a document, anything!

Unlike chromecast, which seems to need wifi, miracast appears not to do so.  Also there are windows laptops and tablets which are compatible with miracast, don't know about with chromecast.

AFAIK, only apple still doesn't support miracast, which is sad.  As support for universal standards like usb, should be universal.

While many new and even not too old tvs support miracast, there's dongles for monitors and displays that do not support it or do not support it too good.  The article above mentions some of the dongles.   The microsoft one seems pretty good and for a good price.
